Been a bit quiet on the wargaming front recently, as I have been a little destracted by my new Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game. It rocks by the way. I play a Breton Warrior Mage, who has become the Imperial Champion, the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, the Arena Grand Champion, and Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild.
Anyway, forced myself away from the Xbox 360, and brought a box of 20 plastic GW Army of the Dead models. I was a bit wary of the level of the sculpting, but once I started painting, I found them to be pretty nifty little buggers. They're the start of a fantasy skirmish campaign I'm planning. Once I finish them, I'll get some pictures up.

Light in the Darkness
Light in the Darkness
A solo Inquisitor battle report by the Lone Troll, aka Discy.
In this scenario, the General must meet up with the miner contact, who will give him some information. However, one of Inquisitor Garath’s henchman, Borris von Stik, followed the miner, and now lies in wait, ready to take out both the General and the miner.
Stumbling through the darkness, the man who called himself the General cursed the fact that he had not brought a torch. But his contact had specified that he was not to bring alight, as it might attract unwanted attention from the wandering beasts that surrounded the miners hab-block sector. It was one of these miners that he was meeting soon, at the ruined shrine, a relic from when the city had been much larger and well-kept. It was the man behind this decline that the General was here. Inquisitor Garath. This man had requisitioned most of the areas miners, making them work without pay to uncover something within the bowels of the planet. What this was, the General did not, nor did he care, for he was here to kill Garath. No, he corrected himself, not kill. You do not kill animals, you slaughter them. This Inquisitor had murdered the shining light in his life, the Inquisitorix Belinu Horth. The General had served Horth for many years, completely obsessed with her. Until she had clashed with the Radical Garath, and lost. Since then, he had followed Garath, using all of his considerable infiltration and stealth skills. The miner he was meeting had information on Garath’s whereabouts. Speaking of which, the General could just make out the pale green glow of the lantern the miner had told him he would be carrying…
Turn One
The General: He spends all of his actions walking towards the light. However, the pit holes and mounds that deface the ground hinder his progress, as he only manages to cover four yards.
Borris: Spends one action crouching behind one of the ruined shrines walls, while taking aim at the miners head with his musket.
Miner: Does nothing except swing the lantern idly while picking his nose.
Turn Two
The General: He again spends all of his actions walking towards to the miner. He has hit a patch of clear ground, so managed to walk 12 yards.
Borris: He spends all of his actions aiming at the miners head, but fails, as the miner spots an interesting stone, and crouches out of sight.
Miner: Spends one action picking up the stone and then standing up.
Turn Three
The General: Walks 9 yards towards the miner.
Borris: He spends all of his actions aiming at the miner, and this time successfully aims twice.
Miner: Hearing the General’s footsteps, the miner passes his Nv test, and so does not mistake him for a beast. He thinks about walking up to him, but decides not to.
Turn Four
The General: He walks towards the miner, and calls out the password.
Borris: Seeing that the miner is about to tell the info, Borris fires but the recoils knocks his aim crooked, and the shot misses by metres.
Miner: Hearing the musket, he ducks before he can tell the information.
Turn Five
The General: Coming around the wall, he spots Borris, but does not have time to fire.
Borris: He fires another musket ball at the General, and inflicts 6 points of damage on his un-armoured right leg.
Miner: Seeing that their cover is blown, the miner starts to shout the information to the General.
“The man you want is in the Blast District!”
Turn Six
The General: Fires his bolt pistol while diving for cover, blasting Borris’ left leg from underneath him.
Borris: Pulls himself to his feet, while hurriedly reloading his musket.
Miner: The miner tells more.
“He’s uncovering something. Something big!”
Turn Seven
The General: Aiming at Borris, the General fires his bolt pistol in semi-auto mode, hitting once, again on the left leg, effectively crippling him.
Borris: Lies groaning on the ground, trying to stop the bleeding from the holes blasted through his leg.
Miner: He tells the rest of the info.
“He has a large bodyguard, and is usually supervising the work in the tunnels. Right, I’m outta here!”
End Game
The General: Leaves to find the location of the Blast District.
Borris: Activates his distress beacon, then waits for help.
Miner: Legs it to the nearest pub.
Staring out across the vast cavern, Inquisitor Garath felt a brief moment of pride. He had found it! He was broken from his thoughts by one of his servants.
“My Lord, Acolyte Borris has sent a distress signal. It seems that he has run into some trouble.”
In the shadows behind the servant, a soft, lilting voice, that seemed to bypass the ears and go straight into the brain, enquired, “It is probably that fool the ‘General‘. Should I… take care of him?”
“Yes”, the Inquisitor stated.
A soft chuckle slowly faded away…
My first battle report, yay :)

More Inquisitor models on the way
Just a quick update. For the first time in, what, two months? Well, I don't think anyone is actually watching this blog, so, meh...
Anyway, just ordered a Catachan Command squad, and plan to make an ex-Guard diplomat and his retinue(think Sam Vimes with a laspistol). I will probably post pics when I get them.

Project: Inquisition
I've started another project. Oh Gods, here we go again. This time, it will be to collect a small army for each of the Inquisition factions, including Ordo Malleus, Sisters of Battle, Grey Knights, Ordo Xenos, Ordo Seputrum(spelling?) Zombie Hunters, etc, etc...
I have some Grey Knights already:
Plus some Ordo Xenos Stormtroopers and their boss :

I f@$%ing hate christmas
Gods, I hate Christmas. So much rich, sugary food, so that the day after Christmas, I feel as sick as a Nurgling with a stomache ache. Haven't managed to get many models painted, or any games played, but I'm planning a 40k battle with two GK Terminators, one normal GK with incinerator, and Grand Master Titus, against a large Ork warband. I will hopefully post this up as my first battle report.

My faulty memory (with pictures!)
Those of you who have been following this blog (yeah, right), may have noticed that I haven't done any updates for a while. No, it's not because I'm lazy (well, sort of), I just forgot my password. Twice.
I have been working on my Inquisitor in 28mm models for a while now, so here is one of the warbands:
Inquisitor and retinue
The Inquisitor doesn't have a proper name yet, although the guy with the two clubs is called Adeptus von Kroenan.
And some random NPCs
OK, I think that's all for now... Oh yeah, I just remembered, I am expecting a whole bunch of old Inquisitor books in the mail soon, including the first ten issues of the Inquisitor magazine. Hooray!

RECOVER THE BATTLESUIT
a solo mission designed by Discy
Models required: 5 Tau Patchfinders, including two carrying rail rifles and one Shas'u.
15 Gretchin.
1 Runtherd.
1 downed Tau Battlesuit.
Objectives: The Tau have to reach the Battlesuit, and carry it back to their deployment zone.
It takes three Tau Pathfinders to carry the Battlesuit.
The Gretchin have to keep the Tau away from the Battlesuit for six turns, before
the the Big Mek and his Boyz arrive to take it away.
Map:
Rules: I would suggest using 5th edition Warhammer 40k rules for this game. it is up to the player to decide which side he/she wants to control, and which side he/she wants to randomise.
Hopefully, I will post up a battle report of this once I have brought my new Xbox 360, and can start spending money on other things.
